Business operators with 10 buses or less will have access to affordable advanced fleet telematics to support and grow their operations

Vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions specialist Ctrack today reaffirmed its support to up and coming bus operators at the South African Bus Operators Association (SABOA) annual conference being held at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria on 9 and 10 March 2016.

Ctrack, a subsidiary of Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ: MiFi), have constructed a new affordable vehicle tracking and fleet management package specifically for young and upcoming bus operators who are members of SABOA and operate 10 buses or less. Ctrack will offer reduced rates, provide installation free of charge and cover all maintenance costs for the duration of the 36 months’ contract. Businesses will be equipped with fleet management tools and stolen vehicle recovery services.

With their capacity to adapt in an ever-changing business environment, SME’s are vital for the growth of South Africa’s economy. “More resources should be channelled towards supporting micro, small to medium enterprises and cooperatives as the sector holds the key to meaningful economic growth and employment creation,” said Hein Jordt, MD of Ctrack Fleet Management Solutions.

Ctrack’s reporting structures provide the necessary tools to help SME’s to comply with the requirements of the Road Transport Management System (RTMS). “Our technology is well geared to support the RTMS self-regulation scheme in implementing a vehicle management system that preserves road infrastructure, improves road safety and increases productivity. Being part of a global company, Ctrack also possesses other technologies which can be integrated to provide Software-as-a-Service solutions to a multitude of industries,” said Jordt.

According to Arrive Alive’s Adv. Johan Jonck, this is where telematics offers significant benefits. “Self-regulation is a very important mechanism to ensure the safety of road users. Through effective and scientific driver behaviour measurement these operators can ensure the maximum safety of their passengers while building a sustainable business ,” he said.
