Ctrack to announce affordable fleet management solution for young & upcoming bus operators at annual SABOA National Conference & Exhibition

Supporting government initiatives in empowering SMME’s.

Vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions specialist Ctrack, a subsidiary of Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ: MiFi), will announce an initiative to empower young and upcoming bus operators at the South African Bus Operators Association (SABOA) annual conference on 9 and 10 March being held at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria.

Ctrack has attended this event for more than ten years, where speakers from different parts of the transport industry present on topics of interest relevant to the bus industry.

SABOA has become widely known and respected as the voice of the bus industry in South Africa. It represents its small and medium enterprises (SMME) members at a national, provincial and local government level, disseminating information to, and negotiating benefits for, them.

In recent years, the South African government has targeted the SMME sector as an economic empowerment vehicle for previously disadvantaged people.

“SMME’s play an increasingly important role in South Africa’s economy and development. We realise the need for the development of start-up businesses, and this is no exception when it comes to bus operators. Therefore, we will be announcing our programme to support and equip such businesses with fleet management tools that will help bring about sustainable improvements,” said Hein Jordt, MD of Ctrack Fleet Management.

Ctrack’s solutions will also contribute towards safe driving, which is an important issue in the industry.

“Our fleet management solutions enable bus operators to monitor factors such as acceleration, braking, cornering and speed in order to promote better driving styles, as well as contributing to cost savings on vehicle wear and tear,” concluded Jordt.
